Dr. Surani Kwan

Dr. Surani Kwan serves as the Director for Professional Practice and Nursing Excellence for Sutter Health.  She advances professional practice, provides leadership in professional development, education, and training for nursing and advanced practice clinicians.  She has 25 years of healthcare experience in ambulatory and acute settings.

Surani works as an NP at the Russian River Health Clinic in Guerneville, CA.  She also works as an NP at Sutter Urgent Care in Santa Rosa, CA.

Surani has an 18-year history with California Association for Nurse Practitioners serving in board positions for over 14 years; as president, president-elect, conference chair and the health policy and practice committee. At the local level she served as president for 3 terms.

She has completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Samuel Merritt University.  She completed a Master of Science in Nursing and a Family Nurse Practitioner certificate at Sonoma State University. She is a nationally certified NP in Family Practice.

Surani has been recognized as a Fellow in the American Association for Nurse Practitioners and in the American College of Health Care Executives.

She serves on several community-based non-profit boards focused on community health and wellness.
